Does anyone paint the skirting boards with f&b? What finish do you have: eggshell or high gloss?

Go to your local independent decorator’s merchant, they are the best people to advise on which paint to use and how to apply it.

Go for high gloss if you like them shiny, eggshell if you prefer them less shiny! There is no right or wrong, just personal preference. Good luck with it

I'm not sure what finishes F&B do but I always use Dulux Satin Wood on woodwork. It's in-between matt and gloss but won't turn yellow like gloss paints. Its water based, not as smelly and probably much cheaper.

We've historically used F&B, Little Greene and more recently Edward Bulmer and always use eggshell on skirtings etc. But it's really personal preference.

We've always just used the same as on the wall (estate emulsion) and they've been fine.

No - we use F&B paint on our walls but the skirting boards are just generic white gloss.

Yes all mine are F&B eggshell apart from one room I painted in dead flat and that’s good on the wood as well. The eggshell is really nice to use and you can get it made up in any F&B colour. I have some rooms when i have made it the same colour as the walls and others when it is a shade or so lighter.

Do you have a good local hardware/decorating supplies store? If so ask advice, they will generally know the local properties and materials in use (and can probably recommend a decorator if you need one).

I have never had a decorator who really liked using F&B paint - they cite additional coats of paint needed plus likelihood of touch ups/repaint needed much sooner than with better brands. The one timei I used it I regretted it - it looked shabby within a couple of years. Unless you are wedded to a colour and don’t want to colour match have a look at other ranges before committing to F&B.

Prefer Johnstones trade over F&B. A fair bit cheaper and the colour match if you’re going for a light colour is normally excellent.
much nicer to work with.

I use F&B Dead flat on the walls and skirting in the same colour.
I think white skirting is very dated and it saves all the cutting in
