What are they made of? They look like stone to me.

This is the type of flooring we are getting put into our house.

Please don't paint them you'll ruin them. Paint on tiles isn't very well wearing in the first place but on porous flooring (if its real stone not porcelain/ceramic replica) it will just look dirty.

They are just basic tiles from bnq x

If you grind out the grout and then put new grout in using a different colour of grout you will get a totally new look.

You cannot paint floor tiles. It will not adhere .

I don’t think I would try it, might look okay at first but would start to flake and chip with wear. We had similar tiles in our kitchen but the pattern just made them look perpetually filthy and stained, and I hated them! We just poured a latex leveller over them and went over the top with lino tiles, it looks great!

I have a bathroom with half beige and half grey tiles and the grout was done in a beautiful terra cotta colour. It is stunning! And the thing about a warm colour for grout is you would never notice any limescale either.

I think it would look good with your tiles too.

Clean them up or replace with new tiles. Tile paint doesn’t look great or last well on walls, let alone on floor tiles where there is more wear and tear.

Given the variation in colours and size pattern, I would say they are limestone tiles not ceramic. In which case you can have them sanded back, polished or finished in several ways. Just like a wood floor can be. Lost of places do this (look up limestone floor restoration) and you can see the difference on their website galleries. Might be a better solution to painting (if they are limestone).
