Neighbours "hobbies" driving me mad.

New neighbours. Moved in about christmss time. Nice enough. Mid 40s, no kids a LOT of pets...

Now I'm pretty relaxed. Don't generally care what people get up to if it doesn't impact me but since they have moved in, there is a very strong smell of weed. It comes in our bedroom windows, we can smell it when we are in the garden or have the back doors open.

We have a 3 year old and at the moment a friends 4 year old is also staying with us temporarily (long story) and bed time is just horrible with it. The smell makes me want to throw up.

9am the other morning, then it's usually early evening and then later evening.

We have purchased another property and moving soon. DP says just leave it. We are going to be out in a few months. Maybe he's right? Advice? Would you report it? If so to who?! The police?

I've never seen that's it actually them by the way. But it's too much of a coincidence not to be maybe. So I haven't discussed it with them. I have had a bit of a row with them recently though over them parking in my partners space. They had a "swingers" party and the guests used it without asking. I know what party it was because they asked us to join... we politely declined... (didn't hear a peep that day.. sounded like I didn't miss out 😅 )

I would feel the same as you and absolutely hate it but if you’re moving soon I wouldn’t think it worth potentially starting world war 3 over it.

If you were feeling brave you could knock on the door and say you’ve started to smell weed all the time and ask them if they can to - knowing full well you know it’s them and they’ll know it’s them and see what happens…!

Yeah I do think you and DP are right. Probably not worth the aggro for a few months.

It just absolutely makes me gag it really does. Maybe after a few wines later I might do the latter suggestion...!

If you report it then you have to declare it on the paperwork to your buyer. I would leave it if you're going.

Report it as a grow when you have sold your house and moved out

As you're leaving soon, I would not be reporting anything negative at all.
