Is Northolt a good area to buy property?

I have a modest budget of only £195,000, i'm a sole buyer and i can only afford a 1 bed maisonette which has over 950 years on the lease and no service charge with private entrance from the street. Is the area safe?

The reason for the low price is due to work needing to the property which will cost max 10k but the property is worth at least 245k, it's in probate also which is why the price is lower. I work in central London and i am tired of renting and this property is a lot better than a standard 1 bed in a block of flats.

I don’t live there but familiar enough with the area. I wouldn’t say it is unsafe compared to a lot of other areas of London, just maybe a bit soulless without any real ‘centre’ and is sort of just off the A40.

But it is on the Central line, so decent links into central and also Ealing for shopping etc, and sounds like the flat you’ve seen could be a bit of a bargain. Maybe worth a recce around the area specifically where the flat is to see how you feel about it / any red flags.

Its ok and safe enough as far as London and the suburbs go. There isn't much there so depends what you want from an area. Theres a decent council run leisure centre, you'll be close to central line tube and transport links via the A40 are a bonus but depending on the part of Northolt, it can be busy (Mandeville Road is always busy and leads on to a40). No decent cafes/restaurants but it is close to the new Greenford Quay development which will hopefully have more of them. His routes are decent too in to Harrow and surrounding areas. I have family there and they have been very happy for many years. Just depends on your lifestyle
