Rear access is unadopted?

Sorry, no clue what this means/could mean! I’m at the point of setting a date for completion and the solicitor has come back with the above quote, but says their solicitor is going to provide and absence of easement indemnity policy to cover this.
front of house is a main road- back of house is like a little alley way with a big green gate, occupants get a key for said gate, can fit a car down there (as previous people were parking their car in the back garden) and all the terraced houses lead onto this alley, as do the ones on the other side if that makes any sense at all? If not i can provide a screenshot of google earthSmile
does this sound okay? Would it put you off?

I think that means no one's responsible for it for example if it needs resurfacing, not maintained by the council. No shared residents management either.

Saying "rear access is unadopted" just means the track at the back is not maintained by the council.

Ahhh okay! With it being the back and not something we’re actually ever going to use (we’re putting in a drive) it’s not really a problem then. Thank you!!

I'd get your solicitor to check - even if you never use it, you might still be liable to contribute to maintenance costs.
