The classic dilemma - head or heart?

OK, first world problems I know but...I have to move house, and have a shortlist of two places. One is largely a more sensible choice, although more expensive, and the other is just tugging on my heart strings. Did you have the same problem, and which did you go for?

or is the third way keep looking?

Well if it’s cheaper and also tugging your heartstrings then that seems like a good option.
What are the reasons it’s not a ‘head’ choice?

Our last house was heart.
This one is head. There’s a reason we moved from the previous one.

I thought it was both, but it has developed problems that with hindsight were likely to arise! So I guess it was more heart.

Worse public transport links, just buses, limited and on street parking (tho my car is tiny and I like walking) and it seems unlikely to increase much in value over time.

I'm probably unusual, but i would only ever choose a home I could love. You spend so much time there, it has to feel right.

But what causes you to love it?

It's a lovely old detached cottage with a great garden and plenty of space between us and the neighbours. It also just has a lovely, happy, homely feel to it.

I wonder why all @Chewygummy posts were deleted, they were perfectly polite!

anyway I am going for the heart, the place I woke up thinking about.

I don't think there's usually a wrong choice. There's no perfect place and you tend to justify it to yourself whatever you choose.

It might be a previously banned poster. I had something similar for a post in this topic.
