Any suggestions how I can get this built-in wardrobe looking nice? I have included the picture of the door next to it. It’s in the study

a clean and some clear matt oil like Osmo or Ronseal Diamond Hard.

I'd definitely paint it the dark blue to match the walls (but I like bold colours!)

In the guest bedroom of our Georgian cottage I'm painting the horrid characterless 1960s built-in wardrobe doors in F&B Yeabridge Green same as the walls. That way they'll hopefully blend in and not stand out as they do now (currently white, which I hate).

The fact the wood grain on the wardrobes doesn't match the wood grain on the bedroom door drives me a little crazy.

I think that is mainly why I dislike the wardrobe as it is now.

Definitely Zinzer primer and definitely paint it to match the wall.
