Should I go through insurance for this problem? [external cracks]

last year I was going to have a new roof put on my conservatory, when the contractors arrived to start the job they informed me that there appeared to be subsidence which meant they couldn’t proceed with doing the work.

I’ve since had a structural inspection, the inspection has identified that there’s external cracks in the conservatory which has caused movement, also there appears to be some settlement. The inspection did not identify any subsidence.

further, the inspection also highlighted issues with the outside retaining wall (my house is elevated).

my question is- does anyone know if I can go through my insurance for any repair works? If so, do I tell the insurance about the structural inspection findings, or would I be better off telling the insurance that I’ve identified external cracks and then being advised by them (I assume they’d arrange for professionals to come and inspect). Or is this something that I should look to sort myself, without involving insurers?

I’m a complete novice with this sort of thing.

thanks in advance for any advice

Have you been given an idea of what work is needed/ how much it will cost?
