Anyone used gravel with honeycomb grids?

We have a large driveway behind a high wall (no back garden) so this is where we park, walk, and sit outside in the summer. Area prone to moss. Current surface is loose pea sized gravel which gets stuck in shoes and walked into the house. Can't afford resin or block paving, so considering larger size gravel stones laid in a honeycomb type grid system. Has anyone used this system and do you like it?

Don’t get a plastic one.

Our small local car park in town used this. And now it’s just a sea of broken plastic among the gravel.

There is self binding gravel which clumps together and gravel binder which is a mixture that is poured in the gravel to help it stick and reduce loss

I don’t have any experience of if as driveway but we had our patio done the builde used the binding gravel to fill the gap between the patio and the fence. It feel slightly tacky to touch and doesn't roll. Pea gravel is very round so doesn’t stay in in place. More angular gravel is less prone to loss

We have honeycomb grids and gravel on our drive and we love it. We don't sit there though so I don't know what it would be like for placing a table and chairs on.

We had a small sitting area in our garden done with honeycomb and gravel. The surface is very stable and you don’t sink down when you sit on the chairs.

There was another thread about this recently.

We also have a honeycomb grid with gravel (semi-circular drive) and love it, but have never tried putting furniture on it.

Does it remain sticky? I can't imagine that would work for car or pedestrians.

Sticky? It's not sticky at all. What makes you think it would be?

it (liquid gravel binder) sort of does the job and sort of does not do the job but is not sticky to the touch. IMO it is a gimmicky compromise.

at the end of the day the only sure fire solution to getting gravel to remain together is resin bonding, however, that is not the question you asked.

re grids, yes they work will as long as the ground is prepared properly so they do not become uneven and you chose the correct size of gravel so it stays in the pocket whilst at the same time being small enough to offer a relatively level surface

is the area big enough for parking AND seating? could you gravel the parking area and get some ikea decking squares for the seating bit?

Here is a picture is what I have. This is a path but it's using the same honeycomb system as the driveway. I think it looks lovely.
