How to increase pressure in the shower

I have recently had a thermostatic mixer shower installed on the second floor of my house, it used to be a shower off the taps (two seperate ones). The pressure used to be ok, but since having the new shower the pressure seems to have dropped. Has anyone come across this and knows why it may have dropped, and are there any options to increase pressure. The wall behind the shower is an airing cupboard with a plug socket, so could be potentially easy to access to add a pump. We have a combi boiler. Any ideas would be amazing!

You could try turning the hot water temp up? The flow might be restricted by the thermostatic valve because the hot water isn't hot enough to balance out the cold.

Oh I'll try this, thank you. It was set in the 50s on the boiler..

There is normally an adjustment mechanism underneath the temperature control knob on a bar mixer shower.

Combi boilers aren't great for supplying large quantities of hot water all at once. So for example if you are showering and have other hot water drains on the system like the kitchen sink at the same time it may affect the water temperature.

If boiler is on ground floor & shower is on second floor… you might need to have a pump connected to the water supply to the top shower. Ask a plumber…or better still ask 3!

We have an upstairs shower with terrible pressure. The previous owner had an electric one, but I don't like them, so when we fitted the new bathroom, we put two of these on.

It's an inline pump that just fits into the water pipe. It's fantastic! We've had them in for eleven years now and never had a problem. Very easy to fit too.
