What flooring to choose?

We live in a Victorian house. We’ve just painted our lounge/dining room in Farrow & Ball’s card room green. We have an old chocolate brown sofa and wooden dining and coffee table, as well as a window seat upholstered in a lighter brown.

We aren’t sure what flooring will tie everything together and would really appreciate any suggestions, please.

Do you want low or high maintenance?

LVT, hardwood, engineered wood, tile, carpet etc

Thanks for your reply. We are open to any type of flooring.

It's really personal preference.

Me, I'm a carpet person. It's warmer, quieter, not slippery, softer for anyone sitting or kneeling or lying or crawling on the floor, and just makes sense to me. But I know thee are other people who just don't like carpets.

You must have an idea which you prefer.

I’ve just looked on the F&B website to check the colour (nice) they have living room images with flooring - why not check what the experts are doing?

We live in an Edwardian terrace and changed from sisal wall-to-wall flooring a few years ago to engineered oak. Never looked back - it's brilliant. We have a number of lovely rugs, too, and I'd say the whole look goes with anything. So that's what I'd go for in your shoes - but of course you might not like this idea for your own house.
