Rightmove v EA?

Hi. If a house is appearing as SSTC on Rightmove but no longer appears on the EA’s website that it’s listed with, which of those is likely to be most reliable? Which is the more up to date platform? Thanks.

Well it's going to vary from EA to EA.

I don’t really see what the question is here, doesn’t seem to be any conflict or anything unusual with the situation you describe.

The house has had an offer accepted. It is normal for it to remain on RM (sold STC) for quite some time after this point. The EA has control of their own website of course. It is perfectly likely they’ve decided to withdraw the property (as it’s had an offer accepted) from their listings, or been instructed to do so by their vendor.

Cripes, feel like I’ve posted in AIBU by mistake 😅. I’m just curious - EA has some SSTC properties still on their website, so just wondered if that was usual for something to still appear on RM once it’s gone from the EA website. That’s all. Thanks for replying.

Well it sold subject to contract... why would the EA actively market a sold property? Once a offer is accepted it is removed from the market, Rightmove is just showing that an offer has been accepted (same way you can see past listing of sold properties going back over a decade).

Are you hoping to try and gazump someone?

Sorry was just trying to help.
If the property has disappeared from the EA website (but other sstc properties are listed) then I would guess the vendor has requested that. Some people don’t like information or particularly photos hanging around online for any longer than necessary. That’s my guess.

The EA website is most likely to be up to date, after all they are the people selling the house.

Estate agents aren’t always very hot on getting Rightmove updated. For example the house next door to me sold in February, the new owner has been ripping it apart and doing major renovations for the past 2 months, yet it still shows on Rightmove as SSTC. It disappeared immediately from the EA website though.
