Endless issues in house getting me down

Endless problems in my victorian terrace

No partner and am currently dealing with: eventually got new shower fixed as no hot water, month later when used is leaking to kitchen below, washing machine stopped working (just paid £90 to be told need new drum, now trying to order drum - hot point not answering). Dishwasher gave up. AO said can’t fit new one as issue with cupboard now getting kitchen fitter. More expense. Boiler v low pressure is going to almost zero bars. There are other things which I am clearer about. It’s making me feel low - any advice to how to get on top of it all. Seems a massive shortage of decent work people and takes múltiple calls to get someone decent. Many just won’t take on work.

How do i deal with this overwhelm? It’s affecting my well being. Money ls also an issue making it worse.

Just take it one day at a time is my advice.
There seems to be problems everywhere getting decent contractors, when I find one I try very hard to hang on to them. If you are Didcot/Wantage area I have a few reliable numbers if that helps.

Re the washing machine - I live on a boat in the summer, no w/m, it is easy enough to hand-wash stuff and drip it dry outside, especially in this weather. Why didn't the service you use to repair the w/m source the new drum as that's what you're paying for?

The low boiler pressure may be a radiator leaking. Check all the radiators first particularly around the valve, then if it's not that use a gas safe plumber.

Thanks so much for replying. Going day by day is definitely good advice. I thought I could get Hotpoint to provide free part but only if i pay for the labour which is v expensive. Now original guy is going to source it - not cheap but hopefully a long term fix. Radiators I will check today, is concerning as boiler going down to zero. I’m in London and it really has become so difficult to get tradespeople - agh! Thanks again

We had this in our old house, one thing after another.

Yes, take one day at a time and if money is short, prioritise what's most important to get on top of first.

Have you topped up the boiler pressure. If so, and it's going down quite quickly then put the heating on, if the pressure goes higher than normal, it could be a leak in the expansion vessel - we had this in our old house. From memory it was ok to use water, but we had to keep on eye on how high the pressure when if we had heating on - this was during a cold winter month, but luckily it's warmer so you can get away without having to use heating.

So I keep topping it up. When shower is on it is going to virtually zero. I need to check it with other water and heating. Thanks for replying
