Victorian Plumbing/online bath furniture suppliers

I'm redoing a bathroom and shower room. The vanity units and other furniture bits from Victorian Plumbing are very well priced and look good - but are they too cheap? Same with the shower screens. I don't want things that fall apart after 6 months, but it is so difficult to judge quality when you can't see and touch the physical item. Suggestions for quality online retailers or reasonably priced physical ones very welcome.

Victorian Plumb is OK (but tricky returns policy due to packaging/restocking charge etc), Victoria Plum is not. If you know which brand you want, it's worth doing a trawl online for bargains - e.g. Duravit, Crosswater, Hansgrohe, Grohe, I used to do well with QS bathroom supplies. I've found there's not a one site fits all in terms of pricing. Shower screens: you want minimum 8mm thick, preferably frameless - I think 6mm is too thin. So the brand won't matter too much, provided it meets above criteria. Taps and diverters are worth spending the money on and going for a brand name, as above.

OP, look at https://www.lussostone.com. We renovated all 4 bathrooms and I bought everything online. I bought all the taps I needed from them, toilets and the sink for the cloakroom. As I went directly to them I negotiated an amazing discount which worked out that I was literally paying B&Q prices. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the quality of the products is 💯

I thought they would be out of my price range but they really weren’t.

Plus there guarantee is very good.

i personally would steer clear from Victorian Plumbing, just because they are cheap does not mean there quality is good.

The shower screen that I bought for my en-suite came with a guarantee that if the frame started to develop any issues it would be replaced. We all know the issues that you get with your typical shower screens!

If I were you I would first settle on the design you are after and then you can begin to look at products etc.

My en-suite which has a double sink vanity & I did not even consider that initially. I absolutely love how it all turned out and I found some great deals online especially with tiles plus I got cashback on all my purchases.

Do it once & do it well!

If your user name is correct, there's Bathroom Discount Centre in Fulham, various CP Harts (including their discount warehouse), Aston Matthews in Islington and Burge Gunson in Wimbledon. All are good for browsing brands and their quotes will include all the elements you need (trap and waste for basins etc). You can then either look online or ask them if they'll price match against each other - CP Hart surprisingly used to price match but I don't think this includes online.

Oh yes, agree with above Lusso Stone - they're very good (and stylish). Victorian Plumbing sells brands other than its own such as Villeroy and Boch (unlike Victoria Plum), so I'd still say it's worth a look for a branded item. Villeroy and Boch, whilst not being to my taste, is considered good quality.

Victoria Plum has ceased trading! I just checked which one we used to warn you off and spotted this. This will be even worse for us now when we try to get replacement parts for our totally shit bathroom, but they were never very forthcoming with replacements anyway and I am pleased that others won’t make the same mistake we did.

Sorry - last message (I work in resi renovations in central London hence the deluge) Porter Bathrooms in Battersea for cabinets, if you want to spend a bit more.

For taps I always use Bristan.

Tupster · 16/04/2025 10:10

Victorian Plumbing sells loads of different brands so there's no single answer in terms of quality. I had a bathroom refitted with vanity, toilet etc from there in last house and they were super quality. I agree with @Sprig1, I've found taps are where poor quality really shows quickly and I also try to always pick Bristan now. They cost more, but they are definitely better quality.

I really mixed and matched with my bathroom, bath from Victoria plum, shower tray and screen from Victorian plumbing, shower and illuminating mirror from bathrooms 365, hand basin from b&q, with a chest of drawers from a second hand shop to sit it on, and bath & basin taps from tool station. Actually used a kitchen mixer tap for my handwash basin as I couldn’t find a bathroom one I liked but it matches my bath taps. Really, just Shop around, you don’t have to get everything from the same place, and you can get what you really like (and some good deals) by buying separately.
