Looking to move to Chalfont St Giles – Any advice for young families?

Hello! We’re a family of four (boy 2 years old & girl 4 months) and we’re looking to move to Chalfont St Giles or the surrounding areas in Buckinghamshire. We’re particularly keen on the area for its proximity to London for jobs, catchment for grammar schools and being closer to family.
We’re wondering what the area is like for a young family? How are the local primary schools (both prep and state) in Chalfont St Giles and nearby areas like Beaconsfield or Chalfont St Peter? We’re also keen to understand more about the area, community, etc.
We’re looking at a budget of around £1m for a house, and Chalfont St Giles is currently top of our list. We’d love to hear your experiences or advice if you live in the area or know it well!
Thanks so much in advance!

We're not in CsG, but in Little Chalfont so not far. We really love the overall area. Both work in London (hybrid with wfh) and the commute is pretty easy although not the fastest (from C&L station at least). It's been the perfect mix of close to London and having countryside/greenery around. The area has a real family feel about it too. Can't comment about schools from experience (our oldest is starting primary this year) but I think they are all pretty good.

It’s a wonderful area for young families, you want to get annual passes to the chiltern open air museum (edge of St Giles) and Odds Farm (Taplow) and membership to the Chalfont St Peter leisure centre (everyone active, and then can use the Amersham one too with soft play & clip & climb)

Theres nice walks, playgrounds, brownies & scouts etc and the schools & nurseries are all great - Gerrards cross down the road has a lovely Montessori nursery (Acorn)

Jordans & Seer Green are a couple of minutes away by car and they have a station that gets you to Marylebone in around half an hour, else you have the tube from Amersham or mainline from beaconsfield or Gerrards cross too.

The local communities are very warm & welcoming - there’s plenty on for kids in all the surrounding villages and there’s plenty of things like book clubs/football/groups for adults too.
