Selling your kitchen

Has anyone ever done this. We bought a 2 yo new build in last autumn and are looking to put our stamp on it by refitting the kitchen/dinner/living area.

The kitchen was pretty immaculate when we moved in (from what we can gather previous owners split their time between here and abroad) but what they chose is the diametric opposite of my taste, they layout speced by the builder is also not working for me.

It's ok quality - especially the frontals and appliances; as they upgraded to the woodgrain shaker and also to the more expensive appliances.

But alas it must go. I would like to try sell it but am not not sure best way. We have very active market place groups and I have seen people selling on ebay. I secretly took pictures before the removal van arrived when there was nothing in it and it was clean as knew it was going - so have good pics.

Also have a plan fr the kitchen comp which shows layout.

My big unknown is where to price it. How much do you get realistically?? How much are people prepared to pay second hand??

The joy of ebay is you can put it on as auction, thus realising the highest value someone is willing to pay for it. If you do not want to auction you can put it on as buy it now at a high price and be willing to accept offers. Then people who are interested will contact you and most likely try to talk you down.

You can scoot through and look at similar types and see what people are asking for theirs.

Their are many people though who take the piss. And put stuff on like 20 year old MDF kitchens that have been ripped out at stupid prices.

So you need to be aware of that. Just because someone paid 20K for it 5 years ago and it is immaculate doesn't mean that it is worth anything like that second hand.

We moved in November, knowing that we wanted to make some changes to the kitchen the developer put in. The cupboards are fine; they’re Sylvarna, so good quality, but we wanted more of them in the utility room. We changed the sink, hob and the oven from single to double and sold all of the originals.

Eventually I want to change the work top too, but that requires more saving.
