Hi - calling on any wise Mumsnetters. I have had issues with my Worcester boiler in the last week . I noticed that the overflow pipe outside was dripping and looking at the ground had been some time. (Although it was serviced mid January) I then checked the bar pressure and it was very high (3.6 bars). Immediately turned off the boiler and a British Gas engineer came round the following morning. He thought it was an issue with the keyless filling valve (underneath the boiler) and replaced it. Said if boiler pressure rose over 2.5 or if it was still leaking to call them.
Since then been keeping an eye on boiler pressure and it seems okay and within the parameters of what the engineer said was acceptable (currently 1.5 , rises to 2 when running hot water/when central heating on). So not over what he said. But the overflow pipe outside is still dripping a little bit (would estimate about 15mls since this morning about 9am , so that amount in 9 hours ) - not had heating on, but have run hot water.
i have an appointment with a British Gas engineer on Thursday 20th. Am I okay to keep the boiler on ? Do I need to turn the water off? Googling it, it doesn’t seem to suggest this . The engineer I had round last Sunday 9th didn’t say to do either, just call them. But wanted to be sure. Think I’m panicking :( Thank you in advance.
