Kitchen splashback and floor tiles

Hi, we recently renovated our kitchen, and now we are planning to have the wall above the worktop and the floor tiled.

The kitchen cabinets are Cashmere, and the worktop is black (see photo).

I have already bought silver/beige tiles for the wall (above worktop) but can’t decide between white or beige floor tiles. Any suggestions? Thanks

You will be forever scrubbing a white kitchen floor. I would go for the beige or wood effect.

I’d go for wood effect too, but I wouldn’t have wall tiles. I’d either extend the splashback or buy the special paint that withstands kitchen use. £75 a can I believe, but cheaper than tiling, grouting etc and easier to keep clean.

Thanks. I guess you mean wood effect laminate flooring? We have over 10m² of spare engineered wood flooring, but I have been advised not to use it in the kitchen.

Regarding the wall, I agree with you. However, the wall isn’t straight, so there’s a small gap between the wall and the worktop edge that can only be covered with tiles. Otherwise, we would need to have the wall replastered, which isn’t an option since the kitchen has already been fitted.

You can get wood effect floor tiles if you want to avoid laminate or LVT.
