Advice on which Jigsaw / Sander / Electrical Wires tester to buy

I'm looking for advice on which Jigsaw / Sander / Electrical Wires tester to buy?

All my tools are about a million years old, so I'm looking to replace them for basic DIY (I'm thinking shelves putting up, and once I know what I am doing in a year or so, building something like the image with Ikea type stuff)

I live near a screwfix and a tool station - so any ideas

Budget not massive, I'm not a builder, I'm a home owner who wants some bits doing

Buy it depending on how much you intend to use it.

I bought an Erbauer mains powered jigsaw because I don't use it that much, I didn't want to pay more and wanted something of intermediate quality.

It works fine. I got one of their oscialling tools as well. They are cheap but fairly well made and do a good job. Great for amateur DIY. No point spending a fortune on top of the range battery tools if you are only going to be using them once a month.

My exception is cutting bits, I always get the best blades/drill bits because that is the bit that really makes the job easier.

Get a detector that you understand (took me a while with mine) like pp said, go good quality on drill bits, blades etc. Get a plug in drill, not just a cordless. Screwfix own brand (Titan) are super quality for the price.

I'm a single woman in my 60s, and I love my power tools

Stick to the same make of battery powered tools so you always have spare batteries.
