Kitchen Taps

Hi

I'm looking for a new kitchen tap, I was holding out as I'm looking to put in a new kitchen ( it NEEDS replacing, well beyond ' tarting up!!) BUT I'm going to cause a National water shortage with this one!!

Pretty much like this one

www.tapwarehouse.com/p/cucina-cook-dual-flexi-spray-co711dc

I think I'd like a pull-out one, but one that's not 'fussy'.

Are there any brands you recommend or any brands that you would avoid?

what do I need to check? Look for? I have a combi if that's relevant. Cold water is a decent pressure.

The prices vary wildly, i'm ok paying for quality etc but I don't know what I'm looking for as the expensive ones (£700??) don't seem to offer that much more than the cheaper (£90) ones ?!?!

Any advice on where to, or not to, buy from? On anything??

I always buy Grohe taps but for type of tap you want, you’ll be looking at £800+ for Grohe. So hopefully someone has a cheaper suggestion!

Thanks for your reply.

have you got a Grohe kitchen tap? Or another brand??

What kind of kitchen tap (style)do you have?

We got a similar 3 years ago for £70 and it's been the best thing ever and still looks new so I don't think you have to spend more to get better quality in my opinion.

Yes, my kitchen tap is Grohe but just a simple mixer similar to this:

https://www.grohe.co.uk/en_gb/bauedge-single-lever-sink-mixer-1-2-31367000.html

I don’t need / want anything fancy.

I have Grohe taps (and shower fittings) in the bathroom as well. I slowly upgraded everything over to Grohe. All good so far - and most of it is at least a decade old now and still looks and works as good as new.

thanks for that. I definitely need separate hot and cold controls is due to health reasons I don't have the control in either hand at the moment for a single lever style tap.

I'm not sure yet whether I'm going to go for the pull out type or not, I just think I might regret it if I don't, but I don't like them when they're too clunky or have their own controls and it ends up looking more like a spaceship controller than a tap, but I just think that may be with my limited ability, one with a pull out might come in handy.

Screwfix sell taps similar to the one you are looking at, but they are much cheaper! My plumber recommended them, so they are definitely good quality. My one was about £100 a couple of years ago and came with a 10 year guarantee.

SnoopySantaPaws · 17/02/2025 23:26

@BooneyBeautiful

thank you. I don't suppose you know what brand it is??

I don't know if this is the exact same one, but it's very similar:

Seville Pull-Out Spray Mono Mixer Kitchen Tap Chrome.

It has a 10 year guarantee.

JoyfulSpring · 18/02/2025 06:40

Sorry I don't know the make but my plumber also found it for me. It was just a bog standard pull out kitchen mixer tap like this one https://www.plumbworld.co.uk/sauber-pull-out-kitchen-tap-dual-lever-brushed-326-1262481?utm_source=organic&utmmedium=shoppingfeed&utmcampaign=googlecss&gadsource=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA2cu9BhBhEiwAft6IxG44bUjCvw4XYRLhj9SuyCXUPA5j9o1t1bXqjKE6wG0lcqD8fk21MhoCdA8QAvDBwE

The pull out part has been great and I wouldn't go back to a standard tap.

SnoopySantaPaws · 06/04/2025 09:19

Thanks for all the replies, everyone, life is kind of happens since I last posted, but I'm back to looking at taps again today.

Can anyone tell me how I know what pressure range I need to be looking at? I have no idea what my water pressure is? And from what I can gather, it seems to be quite important as to which taps are okay & which aren't??

I read a few things online which say that Combi boilers mean your water pressure will be XNY but I've also read some contradictory ones.

I have that exact tap I think (I have no idea what brand it is, I got is as part of the kitchen renovation but it looks identical)

It's very sad, but I love my tap 😁

BertieBottsEveryFlavourBeans · 06/04/2025 09:34

Also yes, definitely get a pull out tap, it's so useful. My friend said it was the one thing she regretted when she did her kitchen, I was doing the dishes the other day and was a bit lost grasping to pull the tap out only to realise it didn't pull out!

Oceangrey · 06/04/2025 09:36

Crosswater was recommended to me as a good brand, I got one in the bathroom.
Pull out definitely for the kitchen, so it seems a good choice.

I'm getting a Perrin and Rowe tap for my kitchen, but they are expensive.

im undecided at the moment, the whole kitchen is going to be replaced (it's well beyond any kind of doing up!!) but the kitchen tap needs replacing now I can't wait any longer. I had been thinking about getting a better quality tap and then using with the new kitchen, but I'm actually thinking now I'll just get a much cheaper one, for now, and if there are things I don't like about it then I'll know what I'm looking for next time and if it's working just fine it can still go in the new kitchen

You wouldn't want to be in my head🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️
