Moving to Worcester - help needed!

Hey!
My family and i are hoping to relocate to Worcester this summer. My partner and i are aged 34, with two daughters age 10 and 1. My eldest daughter will be starting year 6 in September and the youngest is in nursery.
We currently live in Northamptonshire but my partner is originally from Bristol and also lived in Hereford for 10 years so we felt the Worcester area would be a good choice to have great links to the three areas.
However, we are totally clueless on which areas to look at. We currently rent and this is what we will be looking at in Worcester. We both drive.
My partner will be able to relocate with work, however for myself i will be looking at jobs locally and this will be something i will need ASAP. I currently work as a support teacher in a primary school.
We are keen for my eldest daughter to start year 6 in a lovely school, to make friends before the shock of senior school! The school she currently attends is one form entry so only 200 students all in.
We would like to be within a 10 minute drive to the city centre, perhaps closer. Ideally a village location with a pub, school, shop? Just somewhere lovely for families but also to enjoy the best of Worcester.
However we have no idea which areas to come and visit and get a feel for.
Any help would be much appreciated because i honestly have no idea where to start and feel very overwhelmed by it all!

Have you considered Droitwich? It’s only 10/15 mins away from Worcester and may give you the local pub vibe you’re after. I live in Warndon myself but I know it could be considered a bit rough. Warndon villages are a bit more “posh” (both in postcode WR4). St John’s is where the uni is and is full of student houses so would avoid at all costs. WR5 and around Diglis is nice. I’ve lived all over Worcester really but the “nicer” bits are a little bit further out like Ombersely and Fernhill Heath!
Perhaps it’s best to decide on the school first and then see where you fancy living that’s local to the school?

I think the pp nailed it with fernhill heath - it's inbetween Worcester and droitwich, is on the bus route to town and has a village feel - couple of pubs, post office, shops and school. surrounded by nice walks and is semi rural. Ombersley is another good call but can be quite expensive. Very pretty though! If you bite the bullet and plump for Worcester itself - barbourne, northwick, battenhall, diglis are all good areas and walking distance to town. Hallow is across the river but they've just built a brand new walking bridge to connect the 2 sides. It's a very nice area, very posh! Good luck!

Lots of St John's is totally student free - to the south of the centre for instance,

I lived in Worcester for 10 years and have several friends with kids who are happy there. If you want to live witin the city have a look at the outer edges of St John's (the studenty part of st Johns is the area between the Uni and the main shopping street so not there) Pitmaston School is well regarded locally.
I've lived in Barbourne and Battenhall, both are nice areas and walking distance to the city centre, but I'm not sure about schools.
