Tenant eviction

I served a S21 three weeks ago to tenants who were causing many issues.
At the point of receiving the S21 they told me they would not be leaving until the bailiffs came, which I know they are able to do.
They also told me the rent would not be paid between now and they leave (via bailiffs) as they need to save up for another property when they finally leave mine!!

Anyway, I was told today they have moved out and living somewhere else. They have been seen going in/out of the other property and taking furniture and belongings out of mine.

It's all just very strange. Although they aren't paying rent (they said not) for mine, what purpose does to serve to pretend to still live there and be responsible for bills/council tax and ultimately the unpaid rent. It's baffling.

I am fully aware I cannot enter the property until
It is confirmed they have left.

If they're hoping to get a social housing property then officially they need to stay until evicted.

I've known a couple of landlords have tenants who needed to officially stay to that point for future help, but who moved their children in with family (one I know of had 14 people in a three bed house temporarily) so they weren't around to witness the eviction point.

I can this logic. However, no children involved and the house they are now living/renting isn't social housing. They've posted all over Instagram new pics of their 'new home'.

It's just really odd.

Maybe they’ve just taken against you and feel that they owe you nothing, not even the courtesy of telling you the house is empty or soon will be.

Not saying they are right btw but bitterness could explain their weird and illogical behaviour.

Yes, you are likely correct.
Rather short-sighted however, given they will be paying council tax/utilities x 2 and I shall be pursuing unpaid rent, which will continue to increase as the months pass.
