please help, everyone who i've showed this property to in RL thinks I'm mad to consider buying and moving into this property, they don't think its the worth the money and think the outside is much better than the inside. But I think its big enough for a big family of about 7 and lots of relatives constantly coming to stay. what do you think?

this property

If you can afford it and the repayments won't cripple you and you like it - go for it! Its you that will be living in it at the end of the day not anyone else. That happy warm feeling I felt when I viewed this house for the first time is still with me now everytime I go in so....go with instinct (wallet permitting!!)

Ok my thoughts are ...

the 2 beds and box room on second floor have no bathroom

rather odd layout with the sitting room on the lower ground floor. Don't know how old your children are, but I would need my playroom/family room nearer the main part (kitchen) of the house.

what is the space next to the kitchen that has 2 sets of double doors - one from garden one onto hall?

Not so keen on the open door walk through bit between drawing room and dining room, whole point of a drawing room is to withdraw into so you can't see the devastation caused by all the guests at dinner.

the decor, including the kitchen looks pretty dated.

I don't know how much property goes for in Bath, seems quite a reasonable price for the space but only you can decide if it will fit your families requirements.

NB I don't actually think bedroom size and views from them are that important you are mostly asleep whilst in there. Enough bathrooms so you don't have to wait and lots of living/playing space for all the DC and family members to not be in each others laps.

House could still well be on market in November given current climate. Is there any reason you could not nick a bit of bedroom five (to make it same size as boxroom (which is still a double on paper) and stick a shower room in the bit that sticks out? Can you put window or velux in box room? If not, can it be changed into bathroom?

The basement definitely needs rejigging.
