Single glazing recommendations

Hi, has anyone here used a company to supply a single glazed sash window? I'm in London but doesn't have to be a local supplier as I just need supply not fit. I used a company up in Manchester when I did works 6 years ago but unfortunately they've now gone out of business. I'm at the back of a grade 2 listed building so that's why I have to have single glazed. Any recommendations much appreciated.

Can you get the existing windows refurbished or are they so badly damaged that they are beyond repair? I am only suggesting this because I suspect it will be easier to find a refurbisher and a lot cheaper. Plus the wood available now isn't as solid as Victorian wood was.

As suggested try restoring the original window and get slim line double glazing which would conform with planning.

Hi thanks for the messages above but I'm doing an extension so need to buy a new window for it so looking for supplier recommendations.I can't update my op to add this in! Also, has to be single glazing as G2 listed and not allowed vacuum glass either. I have been through 18 months of negotiation with planning and conservation to get the extension approved.

In that case, anyone who makes wooden double glazed windows will be able to make you a single glazed one as it is just a case of fitting different glass.

Thanks, I had contacted a few double glazing companies and they said they don't make single glazed. That's why I came on here in case anyone had bought one recently and had recommedations.I will keep looking online though and thanks for taking the time to reply.😊

They could though. It's actually easier than fitting a double glazed pane in. It might be worth talking to the boss to see if they would do it for you. It will be cheaper for them to make them. Or actually, they could make the frames and you could get a glazier to put the glass in on site? They will probably do a better job of fitting the glass and it won't get broken in transit.

Also just wanted to recommend plastic magnetic secondary glazing. It makes a huge difference to insulation and is easily removed in the summer.

Also you could try asking for recommendations on here:

They are a load of proper old house needs and might have some good suggestions.

Thank-you @Geneticsbunny You would think so. I'll also take a look at the period property forum too! 🙏
