Help - I hate my new bath!

I’m after practical advice here as we’ve just spent a lot of money on a bathroom refit but my new bath is awful; it looks beautiful and we tried loads out, worked out measurements for comfort etc, but as it turns out, it’s perfect for my husband but I’m too small and cannot get comfortable in it. I’ve tried a make-shift bath pillow, but I’m still not tall enough and it’s just a horrible experience as I’m trying to keep myself from slipping down constantly. Can anyone help or am I going to have to suck it up and aim to replace it???

We've got the same issue. DH is over 6ft tall, I'm 5ft 5 and I hate our bath with a passion. He can almost lie down in it, but I can't get any grip at all and end up spending most of the time in there trying not to drown. We've had so many rows over it!

I love going on holiday and will often bath every day if it's one I can fit in without sliding. I only ever use ours if I'm really feeling poorly Sad and stick to the shower instead.

I'm envious of the big bath problem. We're in a new build with a bath which is designed to save water, so both ends slope and the drainage hole is about 2/3 up it. I can't get it deep enough to have a proper bath, as I'm 5'11". I told DH we need to replace it so I can have a proper bath!

My husband made a good point yesterday: he said that lots of people are smaller than me so this will be a fairly common problem and there will definitely be a solution.

I’m annoyed at myself because I was so blasé; we tried loads of baths in a few showrooms and concluded that the inside measurements were more important to him as they were all comfy for me. What I didn’t consider is that getting in an empty, dusty showroom bath fully clothed is a lot different to being in a brand new, filled bath fully naked 🤣😭

I have the opposite problem! I’m your DH in this scenario.

I’m not especially tall - 5’8 - but I have really long legs. I’ve never been in a bath where I could comfortably soak without either my knees or the whole of my upper body sticking out of the water awkwardly!

Actually, that’s a lie. We went to a Travel Inn once that was really old and looked shabby but the bath was bloody huge! So comfortable. I’ve never seen a bath like that since in any of the Travek Inns I’ve stayed in.

We don’t have room for a really big bath in this house (or the last) so I don’t normally bother with baths now. I really crave a relaxing soak 😭

Just get a bath mat to sit on. You don't need it at your feet. It'll give you the required traction.
