Is this normal for buyers

I thought I posted this morning but I can't find it. So sorry if it's duplicating!! We had an offer on our house 2 weeks ago. The buyers basically said their offer was contingent on everyone being able to complete by 31 march. We said we'd aim for this but obviously things come up, you can't guarantee it etc.
since then we've had our offer accepted on a house, started going through the paperwork, ordered a survey, started to look at movers etc, and done all the legal paperwork on this place, filling in the contents form etc etc.
our buyers have done... nothing. They haven't sent any feedback on the contents forms, we haven't been contacted by anyone wanting to book a survey... is this normal?
Our estate agents say they're very keen - to the point where, when we said to them we'd be happy to push for 31 but our lawyer said it was really unlikely they got worried we'd lose the buyer as they're dead set on it.
Is this normal?
I'm just worried they are saying they want an aggressive timetable but we're not actually seeing any action.

31st March is going to be very tight now and some conveyancers are warning they can't guarantee completion by then. How much extra will these buyers need to pay in SDLT if it completes in April? They might try to reduce the offer to compensate.

ETA mortgage rates apparently also looking a bit wobbly, so perhaps that is something they are sorting out first ahead of a survey! The agent should be checking in.

They've obviously set the 31st March because the SDLT rises after that date. It doesn't sound at all realistic now, unfortunately, and I expect they will try to renegotiate or pull out when they realise this. I think that will happen a lot as it always does with these sort of cut offs. You can always chase them and remind them of their own deadline but think about the possibility of a lower offer if the deadline is not met too.

Thanks. Yes it's because of the stamp duty. We were worried they'd drop their price nearer the time - were buying somewhere else so I guess if they ask we could ask. Hmm we'll see. Thank you
