Climbing frame and garden patio

Hello,

We have an awkwardly shaped small garden with two patios. I desperately want to get a climbing frame for DS3 but there isn't a single stretch of grass big enough for one. I understand you can't anchor into concrete and that even with mats over the top of wouldn't be safe. It seems like digging up the patios would be extremely expensive and labour intensive. We couldn't do it ourselves.

Are there any solutions we might not have thought about? Or any ideas?

I'm contemplating this one because I don't think it needs anchoring and is slim enough to go on grass if it needed to, but hopefully could go on patio with matting:

My husband would love the metal TP explorer (he had one as a kid) but as it can't go on the patio (I contacted TP to confirm) I just don't see how we can do it.

Thanks so much for your help.

I wonder if a Quadro climbing frame would work for you? It's a modular kit rather than a traditional frame - you make it stable by building it as wide or wider than it is high, so no need to anchor it! Some people use aluminium tubes or broomsticks inside the poles for a bit of extra stability so that's also an option if you wanted to give it some extra strength. My DS is 2 and a half and loves our set.

The only downside is that the UK distributor is no longer operating, but there's at least one seller I know of on eBay who has brand new kits in stock and secondhand kits come up fairly regularly too. It might be worth trying a small kit at first and then keeping an eye out for some secondhand parts as your DS gets older and wants more of a challenge. The Quadro community Facebook group is a good place to look for inspiration and the Quadro website has loads of suggested building options too.

@lovelylight thank you, they look good, but they recommend up to 4 years old. My son is 4 later this year so looking for something that will last many years. Thanks for the suggestion though.
