Is there such a thing as a washable runner for protecting hallway carpets?

Just that really.
We have washable mats but they tend to move with the nap of the carpet and get crumpled up easily.
Normal runners can't be washed in a washing machine.
Is there a product that has the best of both, ie washable but stays in place?
Thanks

I have a couple of washable runners from Dunelm. Might be worth a look to see if they are suitable?

Don't bother with ruggables runners in a hallway. We found ours lifted and curled too easily after a few washes.

We have Ruggable rugs throughout the house, they’re excellent and never move.

I buy mine from The Rug Seller online. I get the Buddy runner. Doesn’t slip, lovely and thick, and never shows much dirt!

So the Ruggable ones come apart and the top part is washable. How are they attached to each other?

It's like a velcro base but not properly velcor. It all washes fine, but in a hallway it is fairly heavy duty and if you want to keep them looking nice you need to wash every few months. After about 6 to 9 months we found they just didn't lay flat enough any more and every time someone walked over them they started to ruck up. Was hugely frustrating for the price.

I think other manufacturers make them where the base and top are like a more traditional rug and you just bung the whole lot in the machine. Friends seem to have had more joy.

The best rug I have ever had was a John Lewis Flat weave rug that clean up very well with a steamer and occasional carpet clean. Was half the price of the ruggable ones.

The other ones I would look at (but patterns are a bit limited) are Weaver Green. Made out of recycled bottles they apparently wash very well.

If you’ve got a powerful hoover (I’ve got a Miele cat and dog), then Ruggable are too lightweight to hoover properly, they lift up and get sucked in to the hoover. Beyond irritating. They’re not cheap either.
How long do you want the runner to be? HugRug do lovely washable ones but they’re not that long.
