Semi-detached victorian end of terrace in SE...anyone got any idea for a complete replacement? Keep hearing roofers are all cowboys and don't want to be ripped off!

I've just had mine replaced today. Home county, Victorian end terrace but more cottage than large villa style. We had fascias soffits and gutters done for £2200 inc. vat and that price included scaffolding too. I learnt that not all guttering is equal, we got seamless extruded aluminum but the quote was on par with others who quoted for plastic.

Ask on a local Facebook group for recommendations and contact three and you'll get a feel for who you want to go with. Don't go with anyone who will quote from a picture.

It was dark when I got back from work so I'm eagerly awaiting morning to see my new gutters! 😂

Thank you for that! May I ask why you went for aluminum over plastic? That's a far more reasonable price than I was fearing- scaffolding costs can be enormous!

I have a semi detached, victorian house, south east and I had new guttering, fascias, drain pipes, £3500ish, 3 years ago. I could have got them done cheaper, however i went to a reputable company, with an office, someone who answers the phone, a surveyor who priced up on the spot, fantastic fitters, and a guarantee. Worth every penny as I just don't want to deal with builders, cowboys or take my chances in the Wild West of tradesmen.

I used The Fascia Division.

I didn't plan to, it just happened to be what was supplied by one of the companies I got round and he spent a lot of time telling me about it, showed me samples etc.

It's deeper/wider so can take more rain.
It's extruded by a machine on site so the lengths can go across the whole house with no joins, so fewer points for failures/cracks opening up.
It has a hidden bracket system so no brackets visible from the outside.
The finish is a slightly matt, so it's nicer on the eye than shiny black plastic.
Stronger and less prone to cracking/fading than plastic.

Also agree with PP, work guaranteed for...25 years I think? With local property management company rather than one man band. Although the one man bands we had round were great! It's just the aluminum sold me.
