We've sold our property & am looking at buying a house that we know needs work. Part of the work may relate to the neighbours property, so it may be joint work, possibly not but this was raised by the surveyor.
We agreed a price on the basis that the seller speak to the neighbours just to give them the heads up.
This was November.
So we're now being told that seller won't be speaking with the neighbours because it's awkward.
It appears that they were going to sell them the house & changed their mind. So we're now really annoyed that they've waited this long to tell us. Obviously they've fallen out or had words although we've asked if there have been any disputes & they've said no.
Solicitor isn't saying anything about it , no advice forthcoming just do you want to proceed.
And we think that the EA probably overstretched their role by telling us that owner was going to speak to neighbour & now has reversed this.
We're thinking of asking them to fix the problem impacting the neighbours house before we exchange. They probably won't do this though. It's so rubbish & really putting me off the property just because you want to feel good about it & I don't.
We can't lose these buyers though
