Release from minimum rental agreement

If you wanted to be released early from a minimum term rent agreement, what chance would you have? Has anyone done this successfully? Not really got grounds to complain about its condition though it does have some issues. Thanks for any experience...

Presumably if you've signed a Tenancy agreement until say August, you would be responsible for the rent until then

Sorry, posted too soon. You would be able to move out, but you would still be responsible for the security of the place, as well as the rent

You can ask the landlord and hope they agree. If they have costs associated with re letting you'd have to pay them, and pay rent until the new tenant takes over.

You can ask - sometimes if they can get a new tenant in quickly then they will let you out once they have them.

I've asked, and it's gone well (I paid the Agent fees for the new tenant), I've asked and the landlord was a jerk, let me out early, and then still wanted my rent too (ie. double rent).

I'm also a landlord, and I'm always fine with it once we have a replacement tenant, depending on how the tenant has been with us/how long they've been my tenant I might also waive asking them to pay any of the re-advertising fees.

As a landlord I would rather release you early and charge you the costs to find new tenants than make you stay where you aren’t happy.. an unhappy tenant is a pain in the butt…

It will depend on the landlord and if they are willing to let you out of it early

We did it once but the tenant had to pay rent until we got someone else in and cover advertising costs
