Boiling water tap on a budget

I’m currently planning a new kitchen and would like a boiling water tap-mostly to free up worktop space in my small kitchen.

I don’t have a huge budget so a Quooker/Qettle is out of my budget. Can anyone recommend a more affordable option? I’ve seen some in Screwfix/B&Q but I’m unsure if they’d be any good.

Following, as I have the same query, having new kitchen, quicker £1,500+, others from £600

I got one from Costco for about £250 a couple of years back... not sure if they're a special or always on!

I had a standard Insinkerator hot water tap fitted 8 years ago and it’s been great-I think the standard are priced around £500 now.

If you have a small kitchen you're going to lose a cupboard to house the under sink boiler. You may be better off with a kettle.

Is there such thing as a pull out boiling water tap? The ones you can pull out and spray around the sink? (Don’t want to spray boiling water but want to be able to rinse the sink easily!)

Oh I didn’t realise the tanks were particularly big? Thanks, I’ll have to look into that.

I had a quooker in my last house and installed a £100 ScrewDix jobbie in this one and it’s just as good. Honestly.

We have a Proboil - it cost a lot less than a Quooker and it's great.

It was the only one we could have as our water pressure is quite low and I was worried it would be rubbish but it's 3 years old and still works brilliantly

The Quooker one the kitchen company offered us was fairly large, but I didn't look into it any further as we decided we didn't want one. I think it did ice cold water as well, and some do sparkling too so you would need a whole cupboard! A simple version would be smaller.

I would probably get a compact 0.5l mini kettle for about 20 quid.

Do kettles really take up that much space on a worktop ?

It's not the space for me it's the instant hot water that I love.

Hot drinks
Cooking pasta
Rinsing utensils when I'm cooking
Cleaning the dogs bowl
Heating cups before I use the coffee machine

Thank you @TimothyIsNotAnArmardillo i feel justified now!

Honestly, I love my new kitchen but if I had to give it up the only thing I'd be desperate to keep is my boiling water tap.

We stayed in a holiday cottage last year and had to use a kettle! It was a shock to the system Smile
