Just moved and desperately need new windows.
We live in a village street made up mainly or Victorian terraces and semis ranging from the big villas to Little cottages, with some more modern houses mixed in...but mainly Victorian iyswim.
Apart from the more modern houses all the period houses have white windows (mixture of original, nice UPVC sliding sashes and bad uPVC replacements)
I've just been to the show room and fallen in love with a flush casement, wood grain foil in a light cream colour. It was really lovely and I thought it looked less 'plastic' than the white wood grain effect. (Timber not an option due to budget sadly)
So would it be stupid to be different than the rest of the street? Or would it be stupid to try and blend in with the neighbors when it's not what I love?
There's one house that have gone grey render and black doors windows and it sticks out like a sore thumb but I feel like my dilemma is a lot less conspicuous than that.
Not a conservation area if relevant.
Thanks!
