Please could you help me with my family bathroom layout ?

Ideally, I would like a separate shower unit and bath.

Thank you

Thanks @Mum5net , I am thinking of getting rounded corner edge bath and an offset quadrant shower enclosure

This is exactly the same as our bathroom layout, we had a new bathroom two years ago. Our bath is double ended with taps (and shower attachment) and plug in the middle. Shower has an offset quadrant tray with curved sliding door. We have the basin in a unit, so storage there, glass shelf above the basin and mirror. Small drawer unit and small pedal bin between shower and door, another mirror on the wall above the drawer unit (this has makeup etc)

Just seen your latest post, we have rounded end to bath and offset quadrant shower as I mentioned above.

@Reno2025 id love to know what software you’re using for this? I need to do my bathroom layout too and you’re making the changes look so easy!

The space between the bath and the shower is far too narrow in your new layout. If you want the bath in that location, then rotate the shower 90deg. It would increase that gap, and you would still have enough space for total rails and storage.

Definitely two towel rails, one within reach of the shower, and one within reach of the bath.

I prefer heated towel poles to towel rads. Much easier to hang the towels, and just as effective for drying. Not as effective at heating the room, so ours are supplementary, not instead of an ordinary radiator.

For a towel rad, we have one in the family bathroom that is a half-cylinder shape, similar to the screenshots. Takes up less wall-space than an equivalent flat profile rad, but holds more towels. Like with the towel poles, it is easier to hang the towels on it than on a conventional towel rad.

Will you have a radiator in the bathroom as well as the towel rads? Our towel rad is somehow connected to the GCH in such a way that it comes on when the heating is on, but also when the hot water is on. That way it works even in the summer when the heating is not on, and we do not need a radiator in the family bathroom.

What are your thoughts on a shower that just has straight panels and no doors...
Hugely easier to clean and clear plastic seals on showers always yellow with time...

WartOrNot · 20/01/2025 22:05

Crossposted! By the time I finished writing my post, you had already made the change.

JamMakingWannaBe · 20/01/2025 22:05

OP, you need to Google the Building Regs relating to disability accessibility space around sanitary fittings. It's the reason most WC are positioned directly opposite a door IE: for wheelchair access. They are mandatory in Scotland and, I believe but your plumber will know, advisable in England. I'm not sure about other parts of the UK.
I'd put the bath behind the door and the sink under the window.

@Reno2025 where is the door?

Baggyprincess · 20/01/2025 22:13

Is the door top wall to the right? Which way does it open?

Reno2025 · 20/01/2025 22:33

Walk in shower panel sounds great @Mum5net

@WartOrNot , yes it's a much better layout

@JamMakingWannaBe I am not aware of accessibility Building Regs in England and will ask my plumber.

@JulesJules the bath looks nice. What make and model is it ?

@NotinToTintin and @Baggyprincess the door on on the top right wall and opens to the right wall

@glasshalfsomething I am using Homebase design tool

I'm not sure what make and model it is, we used a high street bathroom company who did the whole thing. But it's like this one (ours is RH)

If possible, I'd definitely have the sink next to the toilet. It might only be a few steps, but I think it'd be much better for washing hands.
