Which colour looks better with the floor?

Hey so we have beige ivory/grey vein tiles in kitchen
not sure which colour door goes best with these tiles.
Left is Ivory (warm cream colour) Right is Porcelain (greige) hoping to have Apollo acrylic white Carrara for worktop
which I think works with both and the floor. See 2nd photo.

The first door, the ivory. IMO the greige cool blue tone clashes with the warm beige of the floor.

Yup the warm one works with the floor, although I prefer the cooler one.

I think if the grout wasn't black you might get away with the cooler door.

Onekidnoclue · 06/01/2025 20:48

Left. Warm with warm is cohesive. Having a colour with a cool undertone will jar.

DuesToTheDirt · 06/01/2025 20:48

Ivory with the floor, but porcelain with the worktop...

Chewbecca · 06/01/2025 20:51

Oh, the ivory definitely. The right hand one looks cheap and odd against the floor.
I am unsure if that worktop will complement, can you picture it side by side as you have done the doors?

hideawayforever · 06/01/2025 20:56

I think the left one goes better with the flooring but I prefer the colour of the right one.

LindaDawn · 06/01/2025 21:04

The left.

So do I 😕 I dislike our floor but can’t change it, it runs the whole way through the downstairs and it would be a mega job, one my husband doesn’t agree to even though I’ve pushed for it 😅

I’ll put the worktop sample against the floor and the ivory door and post an image in this thread.
I do have another small square door sample coming in a couple of days so I’ll post that too.

the grout is partly why I dislike (hate) the flooring. I’ve looked into changing the grout colour but due to living on a muddy farm, a paler grout would look dirty in high traffic areas especially our boot room -so i’m told to believe.

If you live on a farm, the off white is more practical.

Indiraa83 · 07/01/2025 12:24

this is the ivory door with the worktop and the floor in minimal daylight that we have in this northeast kitchen, thoughts?
Re worktop-we currently have oak worktops and honestly even though they are back on trend and lovely, they are an absolute nightmare to keep in tip top condition that’s why we would like a change to quartz or similar.
I’ve included an image of the layout too if you can picture it with this floor? We are going for stainless steel oven not cream I’m also
thinking we should regrout after all and go for a limestone colour instead of this dismal dark grey we have.

I don't like the worktop with that door.

On a farm, I'd keep the dark grout.

The Ivory looks best. Would be tempted to go for something with more colour though - might detract more from the tiles that you don't love. By the way, I think the grout colour is fine.

Chewbecca · 07/01/2025 14:50

I don't think the worktop is right with the door + floor, sorry. They're too similar but somehow neither matching or contrasting or blending.

zingally · 07/01/2025 17:06

The one on the left.

I personally think the yellowy tones are a bit more timeless, and will age better - stylewise - than the grey.
