Reusing oak kitchen doors

We have hard wood oak fronts and they are really lovely doors, however the carcasses are appalling they don’t fit well at the back, they are worn and tired & there is a 10cm gap at the top from worktop to the back panel inside they were poorly fitted about 20 years ago. we have damp walls at the back of these as it’s an old build and no food can be kept in them due to this moisture. Any way, what I want to ask is- can you keep the doors but change the carcass? I can’t seem to find anything about this. Only change doors on carcass.
We’ve just had foil wrap doors in our pantry and I’m furious, they’ve started getting thin cracks on the tops when I open the cupboard doors. No way do we want them again. trying to save on wooden doors as they are expensive hence why trying to keep ours to reuse.

Yes fitting them is easier if you get the same thickness of carcass. Depending on how the hinges fit you may need to get new. Buy a carcass and try?
