Hi All,

Hope you and your LOs are well.

We are moving with my 15 month old son on the 31st and I am so so stressed.

I am sooooo stressed to the level I haven't really done much at all.

It's that level where it's not even procrastination but rather just I'm so anxious I don't even know what to do and I've done bits and bobs.

What would be your top tips for moving. I've seen lots of YouTube vids but I still wanted to ask here.

Luckily the place is 15 mins drive from here so my friend when he can moves stuff during breaks etc from his work.

And also if you have any suggestions on how to clean mould, damp and mildew and things like this it would also be really appreciated because this place we been living in has so much mould and damp which is why it was time we moved.

Thanks in advance

Forget YouTube etc as that’s just another thing that’s getting in the way of you getting on. Do you have boxes? If so, put some music in and set your phone on a timer to fill 5 boxes, then have a break, then repeat.
message some friends and see if anyone’s free to help for an hour.
if your current house is mouldy, all you can do is wipe down walls with soap and water and open windows.
Good luck! Just think how great it will feel when you are
moved in.

Get lots of boxes and supermarket bags for life and label them with names if rooms. Set a timer and just put stuff in. Don’t over fill them. Throw away anything you know you won’t need but don’t overthink it; you can sort out when you are in your new home.

Keep back everything that you will need for the first few hours and put it in the car.

Arrange babysitter for the actual move.

On the day, read (and photograph) the meters.

Also, from experience, take photos of your current house as you leave, so that if the landlord comes back to claim it is not clean enough or any damage is more than wear and tear you have proof it isn’t.

Cillit Bang Mould version and very hot water for the mould.

Get empty boxes - I liked supermarket wine boxes. Once full, they're not too heavy and will stack. Take a room at a time, work out what you're taking and pack it. Everything else, either goes to charity shop or tip. I normally include a pile for selling but you haven't got much time. Good luck.
