Kitchen/Sunroom Layout Ideas

Hello

I'm thinking of turning the sunroom into a dining room to free up kitchen space as the kitchen currently sits as kitchen/diner.

Sunroom already has a radiator in so does this mean it’s HVAC covered ? or might I still have to check insulation and ventilation etc ?

The red arrows point to two windows, the green arrows point to doors , the one on left is internal standard into lounge and the right hand side are double doors leading onto sunroom.

what could I do with the space in blue ? Currently there’s no radiator on that wall so would it be odd to have kitchen cabinets/units/fridge freezer etc that far over?

If I have a U shaped kitchen units I feel like I’m wasting space with the blue squiggly line ..

open to any ideas as I don’t know how to make most of space :)

please note on the left of the blue squiggly line is a storage cupboard so would need access to that …

I would have a U shape kitchen and a pantry cabinet kind of thing at the blue space.

I would probably put in a nice dresser of some sort which would have the crockery and cutlery etc to use in the dining room. That way someone laying the table wouldn't need to go in the area where the cooking is happening

What sort of sunroom is it? Is it a conservatory-type structure mainly made of glass and windows or has it got brick walls and a proper insulated roof?

If it's a conservatory it needs to have external doors leading from the main house - that's a legal requirement (building regs). Conservatories are not meant to be treated as internal spaces like the main house - they will leak heat as if there were no walls at all, and draw heat in the summer so it's often too hot to use.

If it's a conservatory it probably didn't need planning permission but it should have building regs whatever type of structure it is.

If you have the budget it might be better to knock it down and replace it with a proper extension that you can merge with the main house.
