Dream Doors

I recently had replacement kitchen doors supplied and installed by Dream Doors – Reading & Wokingham. The installation was carried out by a subcontractor who was courteous and professional, and the doors themselves appear to be of good quality.
However, I discovered some concerning details regarding the pricing. Included in the paperwork left with me was the original cost of the doors to Dream Doors, listed as £1,768.47. The total amount charged to me under the contract was £5,287.50. Even after accounting for an estimated subcontractor labour cost of £500 for two days' work, this reflects an approximate markup of 135%. While I understand that the company incurs additional operational costs, this level of markup seems excessive. Nonetheless, as I had signed the contract, I was required to pay the full amount.
From my own research, it appears that the supplier of the doors is BA Components (byba.co.uk), with Dream Doors acting as a retail partner.
I am also troubled by numerous reviews online regarding Dream Doors’ customer service, particularly concerning their reluctance to honour warranties in some cases.
My intention is not to promote any other company, but rather to inform potential customers of Dream Doors about the significant markup and the importance of conducting thorough research before committing. Considering alternative kitchen suppliers as part of your decision-making process may be advisable.
