We’re having to replace our kitchen but are hoping to keep our countertops.
My preference is to have a solid wood kitchen cupboards, ideally from Neptune.
Any advice / experience / suggestions are most gratefully received.

I’m not sure what your question is?

We recently renovated and looked at many mainstream suppliers- Howdens, Benchmarx etc along with many independent shops. I've never heard of Neptune so have no advice about them.

Our carpenter recommended a local guy that worked from home. He had access to doors and cabinets from multiple suppliers. He bought door samples in the colours we wanted to see, gave advice and showed various corner/pull out options. I'd use him again. You might find a similar, independent supplier near you.

I've heard people on MN recommended DIY kitchens, but have no idea if they have solid wood or not though.

If you're wanting to paint it, we had Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch after looking at Neptune, Devol etc. They make the insides from oak veneer, and the cupboards are tulipwood with some mdf. We are so happy with them, and they were infinitely cheaper. For a large kitchen with two larders, we paid about £11k in the half price sale. They do a half price sale twice a year handmadekitchensofchristchurch.co.uk/top-50-gallery

Just mentioning in case that would be something you'd be considering

The sizes of the cabinets are all bespoke, so you can make the most of every inch

If you have the budget for Neptune, it may be worth allocation a bit to an independent kitchen designer who will get you a good layout and storage, unless you are very clear already
There's a long classic thread "MN kitchens lessons learned" that's worth a look, use the search function.
