Solar panel grants

I applied for a government funded solar installation scheme a few months ago and was accepted.

There's been a few minor issues so far with installers adding things that weren't discussed such as extractor fan in my kitchen (there's no room to put one) and the contract having an incorrect name of the council. They've also not told me where they will place inverters (I don't want it in the loft) and where cables will run. The helpline dont seem to know much about the equipment either!

Also absolutely no mention of any scaffolding which I queried. When prompted, they were quite vague and said that this would be put up a few days before and the scaffolders would contact me beforehand (as they need access through a locked gate).

Supposed to be an install happening tomorrow between 8am and 12pm (Monday). It's now Sunday and there's no scaffolding, nor have the scaffolding company contacted me).

Alarm bells are ringing so I've Googled the company who are installing, and there are some very worrying comments with roofs left exposed due to the holes and water ingress. It's due to rain a lot tomorrow too and feel that this could be problematic for cables and connections.

My gut feeling is to cancel? I hate having work done to my house at the best of times but this is giving me huge anxiety.

Cancel if you can. They sound completely unprofessional.

Yes I think I will.

I can't risk my roof leaking this near to Christmas. They were also really pushy during the process and when I mentioned the fan they said I can't have the solar without it. Obviously they will be able to claim more from the government the more work they do.

I've read about some poor people who have had heat pumps installed that are too big and costing a fortune ( I strongly refused the heat pump option as I didn't want a full disruption of new radiators and cables etc).

I thought it would be all above board as it was a council led grant.
