1:2500 maps for planning permission - can you get them from the library?

My pre-application enquiry form says I need to put in 1:2500 scale map aswell (although it's only to ask about a gas meter box!) and checking online they seem to be about £25 + , and then you can get different types. Are they avaliable at the library (so probably alot less or even to photo copy ?). Thanks

have a look at your local council website, they may have maps online thatyou can print.

Planning office may do them fo ryou for a fee, if oyu are applying for planning permission.

If not, they should be ableto tell you local places that can do it.

We had ot have one done recently and paid £20 for it.

your not allowed to use the online ones on planning applictions, oh no, that would be far too easy, sigh.

ChippyMinton · 29/04/2008 14:41

if it's only for a pre-app you may get away with it.

thanks, ill send the form without the map - it's already taking £20 for that! Can't believe it would cost £45 for some chump to say yes or no to needing planning permission for a meter box. You pay for these people about 10 times over [grumble]

Your local council can provide one for about £20 - you are paying for the cost of their licence to copy maps.
