D&g boiler care

I've been going through my recently deceased mums things and her boiler has a very bad leak. Her neighbour said she couldn't get it fixed however I knew she had a policy.

Turns out she was paying £55 a month to D&G!

This seems extremely high to me and even more so if they refused to fix it - why would they keep taking a premium if they weren't able to provide a service?

I'm hoping some of you can let me know if you think that's a ridiculous premium before I call them tomorrow to find out what the heck it's for.

We pay Certas £30 inc vat a month. I think that covers annual service. Oil boiler about 6 years old. £55 sounds very steep.

If it helps: my recently deceased parent also had a D&G boiler policy, which I cancelled.

This was for £35 a month - and I thought that was extortionate! I would have flipped a lid at £55.

Annoyingly the policy ends with the death of the policyholder, so they may have a get-out if you want them to come and fix that leak now...
