Help me to buy a house in a decent area

Hello,
We’re relatively new to Manchester and currently renting in Heaton Moor. Our child is in daycare, but he’ll be starting primary school soon. We’re both full-time working parents and not originally from the UK. We're hoping to buy our first home in a family-friendly area with plenty of activities for young children. Our son loves visiting libraries, indoor playgrounds, and other toddler-friendly places. While we’re not major fans of pubs, we do enjoy cozy cafes.

After a lot of research, we’re considering areas like Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme. We both commute to Piccadilly twice a week, so good connectivity to the city center is important.

Our maximum budget is £350K, and that’s already a stretch. While we love Heaton Moor, houses here are beyond our budget, and we’re not really interested in flats.
We’d appreciate any advice on areas that are safe, have good schools, and offer value for our budget. We’ve attended some viewings, but many of the homes feel small; some even have bedrooms that won’t fit our bed, which makes it feel like £350K doesn’t go very far. We’ve liked a few properties but aren’t sure if the neighborhoods are ideal.
We’re open to homes that need some renovation (like adding an extra toilet), but we’d likely handle any upgrades gradually.

Have you thought about Urmston? With a £350k budget, you could stretch to a 3 bedroom which needs a little work. I think you'll struggle in many Manchester suburbs on that budget, if you want space and a decent garden.

I'd take a look at Macclesfield. It's further out but fast trains into Manchester.

Ok isn’t it too far and outskirts.
what about the school over there? I heard that it’s quite industrial feeling because of astra i guess.
will definitely go for viewing.

Not yet, we have viewed cheadle, cheadle hulme and heatons.
the houses are same open(sometimes) lounge but upstairs where the rooms are very small. But the schools are in cheadle are quite good isn’t?
