Can you see through the decor on a house viewing?

When you go to view a property, it has a new bathroom, a fairly new and modern kitchen and has been well maintained. Presuming it has pretty much everything you were looking for and is priced within your range could you see through the decor if it was not to your taste and realise that it just needed new paint or wallpaper? Or would it put you off?

I can yes. But lots can't. We just sold our house which was done to within an inch of its life. All neutrals, immaculate inside and out (not to everyone's taste I know) and it sold for a lot more than we thought and pretty quickly.

We then bought a house that is hideous 😆 it's needs everything doing and despite an amazing location, decent size and very private at the back it had been in for ages because people couldn't see past the Tyson fury style decor. Meant we got a good deal it though!

Yes, in fact I’d rather buy a house with old decor I didn’t like than brand new that was fine but not to my taste - I’d feel so bad redoing bathrooms/kitchens etc if they weren’t at least 10-15 years old!
