Levelling a floor

I have a bump in my floor, apparently caused by movement following an extension. See the photo. I would like to remove the carpet and then lay wooden floors. Do you think I could level the floor with self-levelling floor compound? If not, any idea of cost of getting it professionally levelled? I’m working to a tight budget!

Concrete or wooden floor?

@HellsBalls its a concrete floor. My survey suggests self levelling compound so I might give it a go.

You’d think it would be cheaper to take the bump out rather than raise the rest of it.
Without removing the carpet etc and exposing the bump, difficult to tell.

If you raise the rest of the floor to the level if the bump, what impact would it have where that floor meets the floor of the hall or another room? Leveling the bump might be easier.

If I raised the flow level there would then be a small step down to the kitchen which is separated by a pocket door. The floor under the carpet is concrete so my guess is lowering the level of the raised part would be more expensive.

You can hire a scrabler or something that grinds away concrete with ease.
In any case, you need a level surface and a wood floor will raise it anyway.
