Soundproofing windows

We've been having issues with large groups of children from other streets congregating in our cul-de-sac. For months, we've been subjected to ear-piercing screaming and the constant banging of footballs outside past 10pm every night unless it's raining.
We've decided to save up and move. In the mean time though, I'd like to add some kind of soundproofing to our upstairs windows to try and save our sanity a little. The noise is more tolerable downstairs as walls, bushes and our car dampen it a bit but upstairs, the noise is horrendous and rattles straight through our house and disturbs my children who are trying to sleep.

I've looked into secondary glazing and noise deadening curtains but I wondered if anyone had any experience with any of these or could recommend a company/product that will help?

DIY magnetic secondary glazing is the cheapest and least effort, lots of companies offer it. It's removable and fairly unobtrusive.

I used acoustic glass when I had my bedroom window replaced. It has made a huge difference.

Get a speaker playing that mosquito sound or whatever it's called. Small shops use them to move kids on that congregate outside the shop.
That should clear the cul de sac. You only need to use it when they congregate. Cheaper than moving.
