Have you painted kitchen cabinets without removing them?

We’re up cycling our kitchen by painting the units.

We were initially planning to remove all the doors - but realised we just don’t have much space to have them all out to paint and dry! We are planning to cover the floor anyway as need to paint the ceiling.

anything we need to be aware of? I did think more likely to get drips so need to do thin coats

Yes, I did. It was absolutely fine. You just have to leave the doors open while the edges dry.

Yes, it's a lot easier to paint when you take the cabinet doors off as we've done in the past.

This time I couldn't unscrew the cupboard doors for love nor money so had to paint with them on, worked out fine. There were a few fiddly bits in between cupboards which were hard to reach but with a special paint brush we managed.

If it's space, just take one or two off at a time, give a few coats then put them back on before you start on the next ones.
It's easier to avoid drips when they're off because you can lay them flat.

I used Little Green paint, which is fab quality and doesn't tend to drip at all.

Which type did you use for your cabinets, I am considering intelligent satin, thanks
