Warm home discount scheme

We've applied for this via Scottish power and it's been sent to A&M energy solutions.
Since then, nothing!
Had the initial email from then saying they would be in touch but not heard a word in 3 weeks.
We don't qualify for it under the benefits section but we do under the energy rating of the house (F)
Since then I've heard from other ppl saying the scheme is not fit for purpose.
Has anyone ever had success with these schemes?
Can help thinking it's a tick box exercise by the government?

I do know a couple of people who got a boiler out of it.

Sadly, after six months of chasing mine came to nowt. I think there are a load of grifters on the case using the scheme to make money, and moving on when they can't.

We used to get it ( DH- cancer) but since they changed the scheme, no longer. 😞

If you mean the £150 warm home discount that will just automatically be added to your energy account from your energy supplier ?

No sorry, I mean the grants for home insulation

There was something similar when we had windows put in a while back. The installers said that the scheme was a pain in the neck with lots of red tape and paperwork.
Most installers increased the price to cover the cost (to them) of admin, so any potential gain to the customer was wiped out.

In which case, ignore my previous comment!

So, have just had the initial telephone call.
Apparently we are eligible.

However, they would need to retrofit trickle vents to all the windows and we would need to have an extractor fan fitted in the bathroom.

These seems like a huge overkill just for roof insulation.

Really don't want them drilling holes in our brand new windows or drilling through a newly tiled bathroom either.

Apparently it's a stipulation of the Grant that these are done.

WHD is completely different. I believe you mean the GBIS (great british insulation scheme).

I work in the energy sector, there are serious delays at the moment - it's leading up to winter.

@loopyluloopy damn! Yes I do mean that scheme. Not sure how to change the title now

Double-check this. My info may be out of date but it used to be that you had to replace trickle-vents with trickle-vents. But if you didn't already have trickle-vents then there was no requirement for the replacements to be t-v.

Really don't want them ... drilling through a newly tiled bathroom either.
Can you go up? Through the ceiling and out of the roof space.

But, like I said earlier, these Govt schemes are often more trouble than they are worth.
