Will removing this shower screen ruin the tiles?

We want to refresh the bathroom without big fixes. One of the changes is removing/replacing the shower screen.

See existing. Will removing it damage the tiles beneath/next to? And this particular shower screen has been discontinued. Will we be able to put another one on without showing much of the previous attachment - i.e. are they all roughly similar in fixtures?

I see no problem whatsoever. Even if you need to make new drill holes, the old ones can be hidden by the new shower door or simply with grout filler.
Some people do not like glass shower doors (children especially) and a shower curtain works perfectly fine, I attest.

I am thinking of doing this myself.

On mine the rail that fixes to the wall is T shaped cross section. The door fixes to the stem of the T. The rail is fixed by screws to the wall and through the tiles on holes in the top of the T. You can get to these by popping off a trim piece that runs all the way down the rail near where the stem and top of the t meet. The T rail is held in by screws, but there is a lot of sealant down each side to prevent water leakage.

So basically my first move is to remove the door, then if necessary remove the T. My guess is it will be held by 4 screws to the tiles. To remove the T rail I am going to have to remove the screws, then break the sealant to remove the rail.

My guess is that what will be left will be a wall with 4 holes in it and ridges of sealant attached to the tiles that will then have to be removed and cleaned up. Then a new T bar can be screwed on, my guess is that I will need to drill new holes if I want to use the exisiting holes in the tiles, but these will be covered by trim so no biggie.

TBH the rails on mine are in good shape, so I am probably going to reuse them and just hang a new door straight off them. The problem then becomes sizing the door correctly.

Maybe yours is the same, maybe not.
